FIREWORKS FILMED WITH A DRONE

A new, and for me very impressive, perspective on a Fireworks display.

HOMEMADE JET SKI & ONE INTREPID FELINE

LYFE - ZERO GRAVITY PLANT GROWING SYSTEM

This very cool looking planter system, LYFE, is described on its Kickstarter page [fully funded] as consisting:

"... of a planter that hovers over an oak base via magnetic levitation. Designed to gently rotate during suspension, LYFE nourishes life with 360 degrees of sunlight exposure, 365 days a year."

THE WINDOW THAT MORPHS INTO A BALCONY

No idea if this would work out cheaper to build than a conventional balcony and it seems to me that it has a disadvantage over a conventional balcony in that there is no door and the apartment is "open" to the elements when it is used as balcony. So in the heat of summer you are letting hot air in and in the winter cold. All of that said it does look like a rather awesome piece of tech/architecture.

ELEVATED BUS THAT DRIVES ABOVE TRAFFIC JAMS

Looks like an awesome idea to me; it will be interesting to see if it ever comes to fruition.

HARMONY OF THE SEAS - ONE MINUTE HYPER-LAPSE TOUR

Royal Caribbean's Harmony Of The Seas is the world's largest cruise ship. This video is a very cool "hyper-lapse" tour of the ship during construction at the STX Shipyard in France.

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' - AWESOME TIME LAPSE VIDEO

This combination of the natural beauty of California and the technology of time lapse photography produces truly breathtaking results.

BUILD A HOME IN JUST 3 DAYS - GREEN MAGIC HOMES

Cool Green Magic Homes that can be built in just 3 days. They remind me of Futuro in the sense that they use prefabricated sections that can be assembled easily and quickly with limited tools and personnel.

LIFE BEFORE COMPUTERS

CENTRAL PARK - CRUISE SHIP STYLE

You could easily be forgiven for thinking this is a photo of a rather cool land based outdoor atrium, perhaps associated with a large hotel, a mall or other complex.

In fact it is actually one of the "neighborhoods" on board the Royal Carribean cruise ship Oasis Of The Seas taken during a 2015 cruise. Sometimes technology has its issues and perhaps progress is not always for the good but I have to say that in this case that is not so; the Oasis is simply an awe inspiring technological, design and construction marvel.

PODRIDE - A BICYCLE/CAR CROSS-BREED

Mikael Kjellman's home grown means of transport, the Podride, is a rather quirky but kind of cool bicycle/car cross-breed.

SO JUST WHERE DO I GET THE PREFERENCES FILE FROM?

As some of you know I work in IT. It has been some time since I did any direct support but I do recall the fun days when I carried a pager and took Helpdesk tickets at all hours.

A quick web search will reveal hundreds of funny photos and stories related to IT support. It might be a bit of a "niche" area, perhaps mainly of interest to IT folks but I came across this the other day and now all I can think of is "Where in the heck can I download the Preferences File from?". It would clearly make solving computer problems a whole heck of a lot easier!

LIGHTNING STRIKES IN AMAZING SUPER SLOW MOTION

This amazing and beautiful video shows lightning recorded during a recent Florida storm. The footage is recorded on a high tech camera at 7000 fps and play back is 700 fps. The awesome power of nature in all its glory!
